My background gave me a broad range of experience in the food and guest management industries. Through my apprenticeship with The Gewerbeschule Basel in the Restaurant Gasthof zum Goldenen Sternen, I appreciated the responsibilities, independence and trust I was given while working as a chef. To earn these freedoms, I took initiative and showed my ideas and determination during a difficult management transition resulting in the absence of a lead chef in the kitchen. I have successfully obtained my Certificat de Capacitée Cuisiniere and have been attending the Glion Institute of Higher Education, known as the third best Hotel Management school worldwide. This school’s program has allowed me to get acquainted with additional aspects of guest and hotel management. My interest during this 5-6 month internship is to obtain additional knowledge in other sector of the hospitality industry. During my apprenticeship as a cook, I learned to master in the art of French Cuisine, allowing me to develop my precision and observation skills. These skills where of great help in my Craft Learn training in Service during my first semester in Glion. I also had the possibility to do a craft based learning in Reception and Housekeeping which helped me understand better the complexities of this exciting yet demanding industry. Through excellent grades during the first semester, an award for outstanding accomplishments which encouraged me to pursue my studies in hotel management with the intent to obtain my Bachelor’s degree. By combining my experiences with the ability to thrive in high pressure situations and adapt to change. I believe I would make me an excellent candidate for an internship in the accounting department or as a night clerk thanks to my interest in accounting that are proven by my excellent grades in this course that have never been under 9/10.
